Do you feel famous yet?

When I was a kid, I accompanied my mother to an Andy Warhol exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art in NYC.  I believe I had a project due for school which required me to create a painting based on a geometrical shape, like a 3-D cylinder, or in Andy Warhol's world, a Campbell's soup... I got this!

Every once in a while, I might see what I imagine to be a happy mother with a beautiful child in stroller or carriage and the thought might cross my, that really would have been so cool, to have become a mother. But I'm pretty sure there are a lot more women out there of all ages who look at me and my life who say to themselves, "Shit, I wish I had stayed single so I could have had her life."

To be grateful…

Every once in a while I throw a though I'm not getting my a teenager.  It's what I equate to things not going how I want or expected them having a feeling or emotion that I don't like and so I have to get up and start again.  When I say start... Continue Reading →

Serious identity issues…

It's not that strange, I don't think...but while living in a foreign country (non-American) it is very difficult to be known as anything else but as being an "American."  No one cares where I find my identity or whom I feel I most identify with.  As far as anyone is concerned, I'm "American" and that's... I have got to share with you how absolutely ecstatic I am about my upcoming weekend!  I am about to travel to San Miguel de Allende to share two days with one of my favorite people in the world.  But, you know me, I first have to give you context... As many of my readers... Continue Reading →

Square peg in a round hole…

In the midst of getting to know someone new, I sometimes find myself sharing stories (maybe crazy stories) that I feel best describe me.  I'm all about full disclosure...and, good or bad, I'll never lie.  Crazy stories, like when I had to basically gain my way into the Mexican Immigration Office in order to get... So I am…

Who am I?  I ask myself this question all the do millions of other people everyday.  Over the years, I have read and studied many philosophers who discuss this exact subject, but one of them I really resonate with.  His name is Deepak Chopra and right now, with the assistance of Oprah Winfrey, he is... What do you believe?

How to change my beliefs...  How to erase negative thoughts about myself...  What do I consider to be positive reinforcement?  What would be a reward for the decisions or the actions I've made or taken?  What would that look like? They say that our beliefs are based on rules or examples set for us as... Continue Reading →
